Paul Allen, Licensed Plumber

Real Plumbers at Carter’s My Plumber in Greenwood, Indiana, wear Pink to build Breast Cancer Awareness.  Paul Allen wears pink in memory of his wife, Marina’s best friend.  She died October of 2013 . The breast cancer did not kill her, it metastasized to her liver. She was pregnant when she was diagnosed rather than cause any problems for her unborn child she did not want any kind of treatment. After delivering she had a double mastectomy but by that time the cancer had moved to her liver. Her baby is fine, but mom died before her first birthday. It’s been 3 years this month, and it has left a hole in Marina’s life.

Carter’s My Plumber supports Breast Cancer Awareness in October

Carter’s My Plumber technicians wear pink symbolically for the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We are raising awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer.  We are making a difference by spreading the word about mammograms and encourage communities, organizations, families, and individuals to get involved. Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women and approximately 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will by diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their life. The good news is  if breast cancer is found and treated early, many women can survive.  Building awareness starts today and Carter’s My Plumber encourages and supports all women.
